February 11 - April 2, 2017
Friday - Monday, 11.00am - 5.00pm and by appointment
2418 Montauk Hwy, Bridgehampton NY 11932

The East End Winter SALON is an artist collaborative conceived by Robin Rice, Amy Pilkington and Sixtina Friedrich. Located in an historic house on Main Street in Bridgehampton, currently a gallery, their vision was to re-create the warmth of the original home to showcase their work. The opening reception will be on Saturday, February 11th, from 5.00pm until 8.00pm and it will run through April 2nd, 2017.

The East End Winter Salon is a playful and experimental concept combining not only an opportunity to purchase their works but a salon style environment that invites inspired people to share through talks and presentations.

Their first exhibition, What We Love About the East End, will present photography, crystal jewelry and textiles, all inspired by and created in the Hamptons. The common thread is the inspiration drawn from the natural environment that has attracted some of the greatest creative minds of the 20th and 21st century.

The space has been generously provided by Kathryn Markel.

Robin Rice
Artist - Gallerist
Since childhood, Robin's mission has been to document the world around her in a cinematic way. Rice's photographs are always candid, honest and genuine. As a photographer, Robin has an earthy and bohemian way of portraying people and situations that are reflective of the way she embraces life. Rice founded The Robin Rice Gallery in New York City that has been a West Village destination for 26 years. As an artist who feels lucky to be able to parlay her love of the photographic medium into a career, she treats her gallery like a family rather than a business and is dedicated to supporting the work of established and local artists. She has been living year round on the East End since 1979.

Sixtina Friedrich
Artist - Healer
Sixtina Friedrich was born into an extraordinary art family in Munich, Germany. She travelled the world, settled in NYC in the 1980's and moved to the East End in 2001. Her varied studies include Mysticism and Alternative Healing. She is a classical homeopath, Access Consciousness Practitioner and has created a unique form of Crystal Jewelry that combines her intuitive knowledge of crystals, channeling higher dimensional frequencies to produce self contained spirit energy systems. Bliss necklaces, as they are named, are both aesthetically appealing and energetically balancing. Sixtina has a vast devoted global clientele who seek her expertise and intuitive guidance.

Amy Pilkington
Sculptor - Artist - Jeweler
Australian born artist Amy Pilkington moved to the Hamptons in 2005 with a Masters Degree from Savannah College of Art and Design where she was awarded a Graduate Fellowship and the 2004 Award for Academic Excellence. Since moving to the East End Pilkington's career has flourished. Ralph Lauren commissioned a bronze horse sculpture that is on display in over 100 stores worldwide. Most recently the Limelight Hotel in Ketchum, Idaho commissioned 122 pieces of her Textile Series to be installed as wall art in their guest rooms. Pilkington has been living and working in the former house and studio of Elaine De Kooning, East Hampton for the last 2 years.

We look forward to seeing you,

Robin, Amy and Sixtina
